This a Basic Eastern Ojibwe Language Immersion program and is designed to encourage and promote Anishnaabemwin and enhance cultural awareness. Students will learn the fundamental basic Ojibwe language structure in a relaxed setting tht is both educational and entertaining. Students actively participate in learning through vauious culturally related activites such as immersion meals, memory games and crafts. These activities completely immmerse students in learning the language through daily practice of dialogue and expressions. In addition to in-class instruction, students will participate in field trips, where they will have the opportunity to utilize the language in various settings. This program includes weekly visits from fluent speakers who offer expertise of the language and culture. To further benefit students' learning, both individual and group tutorials are offered. This course is taught using fifty percent Anishnaabemwin. |

NI105, NI107, and NI118 will satisfy the requirements for Year I of
the three-year NLII program.
