Child and Adolescent Service System Programs
There is increasing recognition that mental health services for young children and families may be most effective when delivered within the context of a supportive, comprehensive, family-centered approach, which includes programs like Head Start. The Center for Mental Health Services has made grants to several States to help programs like Head Start become part of community partnerships which develop "local systems of care" for children with emotional/behavioral disorders.
