Lesson Tests

Overall

Lesson Tests make up 60% of the mid term mark and 60% of the final mark. Once you complete the lesson, and you feel you have an understanding of the material, then you are ready for the lesson test. To help prepare you even more, you can write a "Practice Test" put out by the publisher of the textbook. The link for each test is shown at the end of each lesson. It is highly recommended that you take these practice tests before writing the actual test. Whenever you are ready, you may write the actual test by going to the link at the end of the lesson.

Having 13 lesson tests is actually beneficial to you as a student, as the lesson tests will make up 60% of the final mark. Realistically, the lesson tests are easier to get a higher mark on than mid terms and finals, because they only reflect on one week's work. As a result, the lesson tests provide an easy way to boost up your mark. If you enter your email address at the end of the test, it will be scored and the results will be emailed to you as soon as Mr Turco has a chance to review them - usually within 24 hours. After completing the test (and presumably doing well), you should continue on to the next lesson.

Each chapter test will have a different value, depending upon the amount of material in the chapter. All questions are multiple choice. There will be 13 lesson tests worth 60 marks towards the final mark.

First Term

First term will cover all of the material in Chapters 1, 2 and 3. These three chapters are broken up into seven lessons - there will be a test at the end of each lesson, worth a total of 60 marks towards the mid term evaluation. The other 40% will come from the Mid Term test.

Mid Term Test

The mid term test will be based on the first three chapters in the textbook, and will count another 40% towards your mid term mark. It will be made up of 55 multiple choice questions. The midterm mark, made up of the mid term test and the first 7 lesson tests, will count 50% towards the final mark

Second Term

The second term will study the material in Chapters 4 and 5, and will be divided into 6 lessons. There will be 6 lesson tests worth 30% of the final mark, and a final exam worth 20% towards the final mark. The other 50% will be from the first term.

Final Exam

Although the majority of the material on the final exam will be based on the work in chapters 4 and 5, you will have to understand Chapters 1 - 3 in order to do the work of chapters 4 and 5.
