There is no quiz nor written assignment for this week. You should read all three of these chapters as well as the Week One Instructor's Notes. The Instructor's Notes section of the class calendar takes the place of the standard in class lecture that would be part of a traditional on campus presentation of this class. It is here in the Instructor's Notes that you will find the written lectures for each chapter, and the links to the Michigan Virtual Tours (which entail a one page written essay) and the bi-weekly quizzes.
Students should also read the "preface" to this text because it has some background information on the men who have authored this text and its revised editions throughout the years. The "preface" is a nice introduction to your text Michigan: A History of the Wolverine State.
