AE109 - Foundations of Algebra
Grading and Evaluation
LESSSON ASSIGNMENTS
There are 36 lessons in the AE109 course, each with an assignment worth ten points. These lesson assignments make up 50% of the final grade.
Once you complete the lesson, and you feel you have an understanding of the material, then you are ready for the lesson assignment. Please be certain to do as many questions as necessary to ensure an adequate understanding of the material before completing the assignment for submission.
CHAPTER TESTS
After you complete all the lessons for each chapter in the textbook, you will write a "Chapter Test." Each chapter test is worth 20 points. The Chapter tests are worth 30% of your final grade.
To help prepare you for these chapter tests, you can write a "Practice Test" put out by the publisher of the textbook. The link for the practice tests is shown at the end of the last lesson for each chapter. It is highly recommended that you try these practice tests before writing the actual test. Whenever you are ready, you may write the actual test by going to the link at the end of the last lesson in the chapter.
Once you submit the chapter test, it is sent directly to Mr. Turco. He will check the marking, record the grade, and e-mail the results to you, if you entered your e-mail address correctly at the end of the test. After completing the test, (and presumably doing well), you should continue on to the next lesson.
FINAL EXAM
The material on the final exam will be based on the work in all six chapters. It will count 20% towards your final grade.
