Course Requirements:
- Assignments are graded and returned to students via e-mail. You should wait for the instructor’s response to the assignment before submitting the next assignment, to avoid making the same mistakes a second time.
- Due dates for the next assignment will be given to you when assignments are returned. Late assignments will not postpone the next assignment due dates. You must submit assignments weekly to complete the course in the required 15 weeks.
- Each weekly assignment is expected to take approximately 4-6 hours, including reading, to complete. Please plan to spend that amount of time in order to submit a quality assignment and learn from this course.
- You may submit assignments early, and complete the course in less than 15 weeks. I will adjust the due date of the assignment, each being one week from the previous assignment, if you wish to complete the course early.
- Assignments are to be submitted weekly, and points will be deducted for late submissions. 2 points for each date beyond the due date will apply to all late assignments. Individual arrangements can be made ahead of time to submit assignments early and skip a week for circumstances such as vacation or holidays when you may be away from your computer. If you have actually read this far, you will be rewarded during assignment one.
- Spelling, grammar and punctuation will apply to all assignments. Responses must be submitted in complete sentences.
- When responding to short answer or essay questions, it is best if you organize your response by restating the question, summarize your theory, and then provide information or observational support for your response.
- College level writing will be expected. Points will be awarded for demonstration of your ability to identify and illustrate your comprehension of the concepts presented in the text books.
- If you have an issue or concern with the assignment, due date, or other course or college related problems, please feel free to e-mail me. I will be happy to help you. I want you to be successful in this course, but I cannot help if I do not know you need help.
GRADING:
Grades will be based on points accumulated for each assignment. Points are awarded for demonstration of your comprehension of the concepts through your response to each assignment.Points will be deducted for assignments not submitted by the due date. 2 point deduction for each day beyond the due date will apply. If there are technical (computer) difficulties, we will discuss any assignment adjustments needed on an individual basis. If you can’t get through to me or BMCC via e-mail, please call BMCC.
You will be provided with a grade average following weeks 6 and 15. If you want a progress report at other times, please ask.
All final grades will be reported to BMCC the Monday following your assigned completion date, or following the submission of assignment 15, whichever comes first. You will receive your grade with the final assignment response. If you feel that this grade is incorrect, please e-mail me immediately. Grades reported to BMCC take a few working days to post, please have patience. Please notice the point value for each section. The point value will give you a clue about the depth of the response expected.
