Grading
Grades are earned through the completion of projects for each week. Students will be graded on their ability to complete the weekly assignments/projects in addition to participation in a weekly chat e-mail with another student.

Academic Honesty: Anyone caught plagiarizing in this course will receive an F for the plagiarized assignment. If the student is caught plagiarizing a second time, he or she will receive an F for the entire course.

Submitting Your Work: A web-based course such as this is designed to allow the student to set his or her own schedule with only minimal deadlines as outlined in the “Course Deadlines” section. However, it is imperative that you complete and send all work in the order according to the Course Calendar. Any work submitted out of order will be sent back ungraded.

In addition, all documents submitted to your instructor must contain your name, a date, and an assignment title (e.g. “Exercise 1.1” or “Quiz #2”).

Course Deadlines: Students are required to meet the internal deadlines for each segment as well as meeting the overall deadline of 15 weeks to complete the course.

Some words about online education:
Online education offers the conveniences of no travel required, no schedule for class, no inclement weather to worry about, no having to purchase gas at $3.00 plus, per gallon. As there are many advantages to participating in an online course, there are also disadvantages, as with anything.

It is very close to attending courses in a traditional/on-site classroom. Online courses require more discipline than attending a traditional class as students are responsible for monitoring themselves and managing time appropriately. There are many similarities, the major difference being that you do not physically attend class. That's not to say that you will not participate. You must participate to learn, as with any class. In short, your learning experience in this course will be this: you will get out of it what you put into it.
