Assessment

Bay Mills Community College Accreditation

Overview

Accreditation is a voluntary process undertaken to ensure that the institution meets acceptable standards of practice. This process is completed in a manner which is transparent to the general public and all constituents of the institution. Obtaining and maintaining accreditation is seen as a critical to the institution, as accreditation impacts an institution’s ability to offer accepted educational programs, have credits transfer to other institutions, be eligible for government and private funding, operate government funded financial aid programs, and in general be recognized as a viable and respected educational institution - one that the public and institutional stakeholders can be confident in.

Bay Mills Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (http://www.ncahlc.org/); this is the same nongovernmental body that accredits most public and private colleges, universities, and K-12 school systems in the Midwest region of the United States. As such, you can be confident that a BMCC education is of the highest quality and will allow you to successfully transition into the workforce or transfer to a four year college or university.
